Green Marble Kitchen Remodel in Logan Circle, Washington, D.C.
Green marble kitchen remodel in Logan Circle, Washington, D.C. by H&C Contractors Inc. This open kitchen started as a set of 3D design renderings and ended as a finished space built around green marble: a waterfall island, a full backsplash and a backlit marble panel, with handleless cabinets and warm wood paneling.
From 3D kitchen design to the finished kitchen
The photos marked Design are 3D renderings made before construction. They let the homeowners see the layout, the stone, the cabinet finishes and the lighting together before anything was ordered. As selections were finalized, a few details changed, such as gray instead of black upper cabinets and a different pendant, which is a normal part of a custom kitchen design.
Green marble waterfall island and backsplash
Deep green marble with brown and gold veining wraps the island on the top and down both ends, and continues as a full-height backsplash behind the sink and cooktop. A tall marble panel set into the wood wall is backlit with LED, so the stone glows in the evening.
Custom kitchen cabinets: handleless gray, walnut-look panels and a fluted wall
Handleless gray upper cabinets with an open shelf sit above dark base cabinets with slim black pulls, and tall walnut-look cabinets with glass-front uppers hold the pantry and refrigerator. A fluted wood wall beside the island carries the same warm finish into the living area.
Built-in oven, induction cooktop and black sink
A built-in black oven under a flush induction cooktop keeps the cooking wall clean, and a black undermount sink with a matte black faucet sits in a black countertop that frames the green marble.
LED lighting and electrical work
Lighting is part of the design: an LED strip behind the marble panel, LED lighting under the wall cabinets, recessed ceiling lights and a globe pendant over the island. Each needs its own wiring and drivers hidden in the walls and cabinets, planned before the stone goes up.
Permits and condo rules in Washington, DC
