Luxury Kitchen Remodel in Chevy Chase, Washington, D.C.

Luxury kitchen remodel in Chevy Chase, Washington, D.C. by H&C Contractors Inc. This kitchen pairs white cabinetry with bold natural marble and warm white oak: a marble slab backsplash under a plaster range hood, a professional rangetop, stacked wall ovens and a large island with seating.

Marble slab backsplash and plaster range hood

A single slab of white marble with dramatic gray and gold veining rises from the counter to the hood behind the rangetop, and the same marble covers the countertops with a thick edge. A smooth white plaster hood frames the cooking wall, and a brass wall sconce is mounted right on the marble.

Professional rangetop and wall ovens

A six-burner professional rangetop sits in the counter under the hood, and a speed oven and a wall oven are stacked in the tall cabinet wall at a comfortable height, so the cook never has to bend to the floor.

Custom kitchen cabinets in white and white oak

Flat-panel white cabinets with long brass pulls run along the walls, with a paneled refrigerator and tall pantry cabinets that blend into the cabinetry. Open shelves with built-in lighting display decor beside the cooking wall.

White oak island with dome pendants

The island is built in light white oak with square corner legs and a thick marble top, with a prep sink, a brass faucet and seating along two sides. Two large dome pendants hang from brass chains above it, with recessed lights and linear air vents set cleanly into the ceiling.

Gas, ventilation and permits in Washington, DC

A professional rangetop needs a properly sized gas line and a powerful ventilation insert ducted to the outside, planned together with the plaster hood. Kitchen remodels in DC that add gas or electrical work typically need permits from the DC Department of Buildings. We prepare the drawings, apply for the permits and schedule the inspections.
