Master Bathroom Before and After in Shepherd Park, Washington, D.C.
Master bathroom before and after in Shepherd Park, Washington, D.C. by H&C Contractors Inc. Before: travertine tile, a glass block shower wall, a drop-in jetted tub and a wood double vanity with a tower cabinet. After: a white and gray bathroom with a glass shower, a new tub, a white shaker double vanity and gray hexagon floor tile.
Before: travertine, glass block and a jetted tub
The old bathroom was typical of many DC homes remodeled a few decades ago: beige travertine everywhere, a curved glass block wall around the shower, a large jetted tub set into a tiled deck and a wood vanity with a tower cabinet between the sinks.
After: white, gray and black
Everything came out down to the framing. The new bathroom has a glass shower with marble-look tile and a recessed niche, a rectangular tub under white vertical tile, a white shaker double vanity with matte black faucets and a lighted LED mirror, and gray hexagon tile across the floor.
What changed
- The glass block shower wall became a frameless glass shower.
- The drop-in jetted tub became a new tub with white vertical wall tile.
- The wood vanity and tower cabinet became a white shaker double vanity with a lighted mirror.
- Travertine floors became gray hexagon tile.
- The chandelier became a modern LED fixture.
