Bathroom Remodel in Northwest Washington, D.C.
Bathroom remodel in Northwest Washington, D.C. by H&C Contractors Inc. We remodeled two bathrooms in this home. In the first, we built the shower up from the base: cement board on the walls, a long recessed niche, a built-in bench, a half wall and a mortar shower base. See the shower before and after.
The finished shower has gray linear-pattern tile laid in a running pattern, a hexagon mosaic in the niche and on the shower floor, a tiled bench, a ceiling-mounted rain shower head and a handheld shower. A glass enclosure with a hinged door sits on the half wall, next to a white vanity with a marble-look countertop and new floor tile.
In the primary bathroom, we installed a white shaker double vanity with undermount sinks, matte black faucets, brushed brass hardware and a large backlit LED mirror, across from a freestanding tub and a glass shower in black-veined marble-look tile.
In many Washington, D.C. homes the bathrooms are small, so a walk-in shower with a bench and a built-in niche makes the most of the space. Building the shower base and backer board correctly is what keeps a tiled shower watertight.
From a single bathroom to a whole-house renovation, we work in neighborhoods across every quadrant of Washington, D.C.
