Double Shower Remodel in Columbia Heights, Washington, D.C.
Double shower remodel in Columbia Heights, Washington, D.C. by H&C Contractors Inc. We framed and insulated the back wall, ran new PEX water lines for two shower valves, built a half wall on each side and hung moisture-resistant drywall around the room. See the shower before and after.
In the finished bathroom, white subway tile runs to the ceiling and black hexagon tile covers both the bathroom floor and the shower floor. The shower has two ceiling-mounted rain shower heads, two wall-mounted shower heads, a handheld shower and matte black controls, with a recessed niche in each half wall and a glass enclosure set between two vanities.
A double shower gives two people their own controls and plenty of room, and it often takes the place of a tub-and-shower combination in a primary bathroom. Most of the work happens before any tile goes up: the framing, the plumbing rough-in and the waterproofing decide how the shower works for years.
