White Kitchen Remodel in Hawthorne, Washington, D.C.

White kitchen remodel in Hawthorne, Washington, D.C. by H&C Contractors Inc. The finished kitchen has white shaker cabinets, a Calacatta-look quartz island and backsplash, a black range hood and brass pendants. See the kitchen before and after.

Custom kitchen cabinets and a center island

White shaker cabinets with matte black pulls and knobs line three walls, with crown molding at the top and tall cabinets for a built-in oven. The center island has the same shaker panels on every side and furniture-style posts at the corners, and the cabinets frame a large window over the sink.

Quartz countertop installation and a full-height backsplash

White Calacatta-look quartz with soft gray veining covers the island and the perimeter counters, and the same quartz runs up the wall behind the range as a full-height slab backsplash. Quartz is durable and low-maintenance, and a single slab behind the range means no grout lines to clean.

Black range hood, professional range and brass pendants

A matte black range hood over a stainless steel professional range is the focal point of the room. Two brass pendants hang over the island, and a bold blue column refrigerator adds a splash of color next to the pantry door.

Recessed lighting, electrical and plumbing

Recessed lights are spaced across the whole ceiling, with outlets set into the backsplash where they are needed. The electrical work covers the lighting, the pendants, the range, the built-in oven and GFCI-protected countertop outlets, and the plumbing covers the undermount sink, the faucet and the dishwasher.
